Get to know our staff and what we’re all about! This week’s installment features:
Dan Schmid, Zirous Architecture Services Manager and Tech Lead.
What has been your most unique job over the years?: “I was attached to a submarine for a total of four years. I was part of SONAR, so that was fun! I was in the Navy for 9 years and the longest I was out [on the submarine] was for two months.”
What do you enjoy most about your role here at Zirous?: “The best part about being in a tech lead role is getting to work with clients on and off-site. I really enjoy the technical troubleshooting and helping people.”
Favorite movie: “The one that really stands out is the Star Wars series!”
What do you love to do in your free time?: “Basically, two wheeled activities! I do like to bicycle. In 2007 i did a half marathon triathlon. I’m more of an outdoor person…boating, camping. In the winter time it’s more about maintaining the motorcycles I have. One of them is a touring bike…the furthest trip I went on was from Omaha to the Canadian border and back – so, it was about 1,250 miles in 18 hours.”
Weirdest thing you’ve ever eaten: “Sea urchin.”
