Zirous Celebrates Mike McDermott’s 25-Year Legacy as CEO and Announces Its Next Generation of Leadership

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa – September 9, 2026 – Zirous, a leading technology solutions and consulting firm, today announced a major executive leadership transition. Mike McDermott will retire from his role as Chief Executive Officer after more than 25 years of service, effective October 21, 2026. As part of a planned succession strategy, Megan Tell, a 19-year veteran of the company, will assume the role of Chief Executive Officer. Additionally, Tony Brimeyer has stepped into the position of Chief Operating Officer, taking over for Elias Karthan, who recently retired after 24 years with the company.

Under McDermott’s leadership, Zirous experienced significant growth and transformation, expanding from approximately 17 to 120 employees and growing its client base from 15 to more than 475 organizations. During his tenure, Zirous also launched a new company and completed a strategic acquisition, broadening its offerings and the value it provides to clients. As client needs and the technology landscape evolved, Mike McDermott led Zirous into new markets, expanded its capabilities, and established new areas of expertise. Today, Zirous provides IT and SaaS consulting services across Revenue Operations, Data and Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Integration, Governance, Security, Cloud, and Development. His leadership also supported the growth of VAEZR Studio, a Zirous company specializing in business strategy, video, immersive technology, digital experiences, and experience services.

Throughout his 25 years as CEO, McDermott’s strategic vision, industry expertise, and commitment to building lasting relationships helped shape Zirous into the company it is today. His influence has made a lasting impact on Zirous, its clients, and the colleagues who have worked alongside him.

Megan Tell, who brings 19 years of organizational leadership and industry expertise to the role, will assume the CEO duties effective October 21. Having served in critical executive and operational capacities throughout her tenure, Tell has been central to driving client success, scaling core service areas, and shaping company strategy.

Bringing extensive technical leadership to the role, Brimeyer will oversee day-to-day operations, strategic execution, and service delivery, ensuring Zirous continues to scale efficiently while upholding high service standards.

The CEO transition will officially take effect on October 21, 2026, with McDermott assisting through the handover period to ensure a smooth transition for team members and clients alike.
